- Muffato della Sala
- Antinori
- 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Grechetto, Gewürztraminer and Riesling
Muffato della Sala is produced from grape bunches attacked by Botrytis Cinerea picked in early November in order to allow morning mist and fog to assist in the development of “noble rot”. on the grapes. This special kind of mould reduces the amount of water in the berries and concentrates the sugar and the aromas, giving Muffato della Sala a harmonious and unmistakable aroma and flavor. The first vintage to be produced was the 1987 and was composed of a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (50%), Grechetto (30%), and Drupeggio (20%). In succeeding vintages the blend was varied until it found its present form. Muffato della Sala is produced in very limited quantities.

About the Wine
Tasting Notes
A golden yellow in color, the wine is of great intensity in aroma and flavor with floral and honeyed notes along with fresher sensations which recall citrus fruit. Though still young, it is a balanced, harmonious wine.
